Great Exuma Island is located in the heart of The Bahamas. Georgetown airport (GGT) is easily accessible with daily flights to and from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and Nassau. Charter flights can also be arranged to and from virtually all other islands and the mainland. Ground transportation can be arranged at the airport or in Georgetown through numerous local taxis.

All the basic necessities can be located in Georgetown, just a mile from Seabean Cottage, including groceries (Exuma Market & Shoprite Market), post office, marinas with boat rental facilities (Minns Watersports) as well as car rental outlets. Scuba diving excursions, sea kayak eco-tours, (Starfish Eco-Tours) and deep sea fishing charters and inter-island charters (Fish Rowe Charters) are all available and easily arranged while in Georgetown. Exuma is also one of the truly world class bonefishing destinations. Local guides are necessary and are available for hire. Golf is offered throughout the newly opened Four Seasons Hotel, as well as a wide variety of activities and excursions. Nearby February Point has newly completed tennis courts. Exuma is also home to the Annual Family Islands Regatta. Once a year, traditional Bahamian sailboats and their crews converge from all corners of the nation to compete in this illustrious event which is also famously known as Georgetown's carnival on the water.

Of course if peace and quiet is what you're looking for, countless secluded pristine beaches are within minutes drive or boat ride from Seabean Cottage and Georgetown.
